Hwy 402 ->


Hwy 401 is not only one of Ontario's busiest and most important routes, but it is also ranks as one of Canada's most important highways.

Western Terminus:

Current:

The western terminus of Hwy 401 is located in the outskirts of Windsor at Hwy 3.  Approximately 12 kilometres to the northwest of this endpoint is the Ambassador Bridge, which carries U.S.-bound traffic between Windsor and Detroit, Michigan.

Not just one, but rather two signs are in place along Hwy 401 marking the western terminus.  The first picture shows a bilingual warning sign announcing the end of Hwy 401 at Hwy 3 in 1 kilometre.  The second picture features the 401 Ends shield assembly at the terminus itself, complemented by a Hwy 3 West route shield.

 

Eastern Terminus:

Current:

Hwy 401's eastern terminus is at the Quebec boundary.  There, it turns into Quebec Autoroute 20, which heads on to Montreal, Quebec City and points east.
